Pain – highly unpleasant physical sensation caused by illness or injury.

Validation – the action of checking or proving the validity or accuracy of something.

Have you ever felt intense physical or emotional pain? Really felt it in every cell of your body and you wish somebody out there feels the same pain, feels the pain you’re feeling, mental, emotional or physical. You want them to cry with you, be with you through the entire process. You feel that only if, if this pain is validated, it’s real. Why do you feel that? Why does anyone other than you have to validate your pain? What will happen if this second person validates your pain? Do you feel a sense of belonging, love, security, and a feeling that you’re not alone in this pain. Well, you aren’t alone in the pain you’re feeling, at that point in time, there are many beings feeling the same pain as you, all you need to do is get out of your body and instead feel the pain of everyone else within you. Pema Chodron says, you breathe the pain and suffering of everyone and as you do this your pain will become insignificant. It will be there, I don’t deny that. It will still be present but it won’t take over your life. You will sail through this pain because now you have become one with this pain. This pain and you aren’t separate. It’s a part of you and when anything or anyone is part of you, you aren’t given a choice, you have to stay with it, you can’t run from it, you can’t hide from it but you can feel the pain of everyone else as you breathe through this pain within you. You don’t have to feel alone in this journey because you aren’t and that’s the law of the land. So, first stop becoming separate from everyone and everything. Become one with all your feelings, good, bad, ugly and then see the magic unfold.

Don’t ask for validation. Let go of this need for your pain to be validated. No one needs to validate it. Nobody has the time. All of us are living in our little bubble and so sometimes it’s hard to look beyond our pain and suffering. But you can be compassionate, nothing stops us from being compassionate beings. If you know someone is suffering, maybe you could call them, message them, it doesn’t take much and you can be with them as they go through their pain. So, on one hand it is a lonely process, and on the other nothing stops us from being part of someone else’s pain.

Lots of love,

Miss Light
